The UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) has launched a national initiative entitled "Together We Fortify the Nation" to support the country's efforts in fight in the effects of Covid-19 outbreak.

On Friday, the ministry tweeted: "The Ministry of Health and Prevention will take part in 'The Fund of the United Arab Emirates: Homeland of Humanity", that was launched on Wednesday to receive financial and in-kind donations by individuals and organisations.

The fund was set up in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, NCEMA, the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and other humanitarian and charity organisations and societies in the country.

Announcing its participation in the fund, Mohap's circular stated: "Mohap's participation comes in line with its national responsibility to safeguard the health of the community.

It coincides with the national campaign launched by the UAE to combat the virus with the involvement as well as the support of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authoirity and the Emirates Red Crescent, and other humanitarian societies and organisations in the country."

Through its "Together We Fortify the Nation" initiative, Mohap said it aims to open an opportunity to support national efforts in fight against COVID-19 and stated: "We are happy to be part of this nationwide initiative and we can receive your contribution through direct bank transfers from Sharjah Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank and and ADCB or through phone by calling Emirates Red Crescent at 800733 or MOHAP on 80011111.

Checking public awareness on Covid-19

In another tweet, Mohap invited the general public to fill up a questionnaire in order to check if they have adequate knowledge about the Covid-19. Mohap tweeted: "Because your opinion is important to us, we invite you to participate in a questionnaire about the extent of community knowledge about the emerging coronavirus (Covid 19) through the link: https://bit.ly/2WJyGLt
