Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM) hosted a one-hour webinar session allowing GCC travellers to reconnect with the city and discuss post-pandemic travel plans.

Joined by regional personalities, celebrity Mayssa Maghrebi chaired the gathering in a Q&A format which covered trending topics from the implementation of Dubai’s new health and safety standards, through to consumer confidence and how regular GCC visitors plan to make their next trip to the city.

Dubai-based food blogger Talal Alrashid spoke of his personal experience and travel plans for the near future, commenting: “I am confident the city has the correct precautionary safety measures in place for residents and tourists alike. I would like to revisit Al Seef which is one of my favourite areas in Dubai and stay at the Park Hyatt Dubai for its breathtaking views of Dubai Creek."

In response to a question asked by the host, Saudi Arabia-based actor Rakan also reminisced over his previous trips to the city which included an idyllic stay at Al Maha Desert Resort and outings to local attractions such as Dubai Frame and Miracle Garden. He plans on visiting Dubai with his family this summer and spending time at The Outlet Village and IMG Worlds of Adventure.

Dubai is set to open its borders to international tourists and visitors on July 7 following a thorough sterilisation programme of the emirate. This is in conjunction with the new air travel protocols that have been deployed as part of Dubai’s Covid-19 management. Emirates and flydubai both announced plans to resume their commercial schedules on the same date.

Dialling in from Bahrain, aircraft engineer Hend Alawadhi plans to take to the skies once again to start ticking off outstanding activities on her bucket-list with the first being a trip to the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood – a district that educates visitors on what traditional life in Old Dubai was like, as well as arranging her first desert safari.

Joining the webinar from Oman, the fashion blogger Areej Al Balushi said: “I am planning to come to Dubai with my friends very soon. I miss the shopping experience in Dubai very much and especially do not want to miss the upcoming Dubai Summer Surprises, I’m ready for it!”

Bringing the engaging discussion to a close, Maghrebi said: “It was an absolute pleasure to host the DTCM Webinar about what we can expect from the future of travel in a post Covid-19 world. With Dubai soon to welcome visitors, it was fantastic to discuss the city’s new health and safety standards which are being implemented to ensure the utmost safety of tourists. And with so much to do in and around the emirate, it will be hard to find a better destination once flights resume. From amazing beaches to incredible restaurants and a rich heritage plus fantastic shopping, Dubai really does have it all.” - TradeArabia News Service
