Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) has denied a Bloomberg report about the emirate's hospitality businesses being adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesman for the body said: "Dubai's hospitality businesses are resuming operations based on government-issued reopening guidelines during this pandemic. The emirate's hotel sector is healthy and this prudent approach prepares the industry for an even stronger resurgence post-Covid-19.

"Guided by the expert advice of our team of advisors, we have been gradually restarting various economic sectors and services across the city, to ensure continued economic resilience.

"The health and well-being of our people and all of Dubai's communities will remain our first and foremost priority."
