Parents of children studying in government schools will be given the option to let their children attend classes in person or through virtual learning.
The Education Ministry is set to provide them with a form to select a learning option including in-school or online learning or a mix of both approaches, sources told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
Under the online learning system, students will have to comply with the daily virtual timetable, register access to electronic educational programmes on time and meet deadlines for submission of assignments and projects.
Under the hybrid model, students would spend two or three days a week in class and the rest online.
The number of students reporting to schools will be determined in line with social distancing guidelines.
The number of periods in a school day may be reduced.
In high schools for example, the school day would start at 7:30 and finish at 12 noon, sources said.
