A total of 348 new cases of Covid-19 was announced in Bahrain yesterday.

This brought the total number of active cases to 4,556, of which nine were in critical condition.

Of the new cases, 233 were among expatriate workers and 114 were contacts of active cases, while one was travel-related.

The Health Ministry also said that 33 people had recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,964.

In Bahrain, so far a total of 249,411 tests for Covid-19 infection have been conducted.

Meanwhile, additional bed spaces were added to Covid-19 facilities in the country yesterday.

The ministry said the capacity of the treatment and isolation facilities has been increased to 5,691 beds.

The capacity in quarantine facilities has been raised to 5,168 while the occupancy is 719.
