ABU DHABI - The film "Abu Dhabi Plan" produced by the Office of Government Communication at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council has won the Silver award at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Festival during the global awards 8th round held in the French city of Cannes.

The "Abu Dhabi Plan" film succeeded in sending an effective message on the Plans contributions to developing the Emirates community and all government sectors, and highlighted the Plans importance for different social segments.

The five-minute long film presents the key sectors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the most important objectives the Plan is trying to achieve over the next five years. The Plan is in fact a strategic outline that directs the course of development in the Emirate through 25 key objectives divided among five government sectors: social development; economic development; infrastructure and the environment; security, justice and safety; and government affairs.

Filming took place in more than 10 locations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The film tells the story of three children, each drawing their aspirations for an Abu Dhabi with sustainable development and a better future in all government sectors. The aspirations are presented poetically in the children's voices.

According to Hamid Al Mansouri, Director of the Office of Government Communication, the global award is proof of the quality of the content and the power of the message behind it. He stated that the award honors the efforts of the work team that spent months preparing for and producing the film, adding that the film it helps reinforcing Abu Dhabis media standing on a global scale.

He confirmed that the film reflects the aspirations of the Abu Dhab Government through the Abu Dhabi Plan, which seeks to achieve the Emirates vision of continuously building a confident and safe community, and a sustainable, competitive and globally open economy.

Alyazia Alkaabi, Acting Director of Media Relations at the Office of Government Communication, received the award presented by the Festival director. The ceremony was attended by a large number of participants representing government entities from all over the world.

Three film productions produced by the General Secretariat of the Executive Council have won three global awards, while Cannes Corporate Media and TV Festival is one of the largest global competitions for films and audiovisual productions, with 917 films submitted for consideration in its current round. The jury includes prominent figures who also hold seats in juries for important global awards such as the Oscars and the Emmys.

The film is produced in both Arabic and English languages and can be viewed on the Offices YouTube channel.
