MAKKAH — As many as 1,647,662 Umrah visas have been issued in three months and a total of 1,386,183 pilgrims have arrived, according to a statistical report issued by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah.

The ministry said 1,075,738 pilgrims have left the Kingdom after performing their Umrah rituals and visiting Madinah to pay homage to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and pray at his mosque.

It said 1,328,647 pilgrims have arrived by air, 57,525 by land and 11 by sea.

According to the ministry, Pakistan with 373,984 pilgrims has topped all other countries in the number of pilgrims. Indonesia with 347,424 pilgrims occupies the second place.

Some 210,052 pilgrims have come from India, 78,806 from Malaysia, 58,652 from Turkey, 40,168 from Bangladesh, 39,220 from Algeria, 26,836 from the United Arab Emirates, 21,021 from Iraq and 20,855 from Jordan.
