Expatriates will now have to pay a fee of KD 10 ($33) when getting medical treatment at a polyclinic, Kuwait's health ministry said on Wednesday.

The measure aims to ease congestion at public hospitals, while allowing government-run clinics to take in more patients, the ministry said in a statement.

On a related note, the ministry has assembled national committees dealing with adolescent healthcare and preventing drug abuse and addiction, while another ad hoc committee was formed to look into road traffic safety.
