KUWAIT CITY: Director General of Kuwait Municipality Engr Ahmad Al-Manfouhi affirmed that adequate preparations are in place and Kuwait Municipality’s inspection teams are ready to follow up procedures to address the phenomenon of bachelors moving to private residential areas, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press statement, he confirmed the existence of a monitoring and follow-up mechanism in this regard by Kuwait Municipality and the General Department of Investigation. Engr Al-Manfouhi stressed the seriousness of Kuwait Municipality in confronting the current trend of bachelors moving to private residential areas, evacuating the violating homes, and taking legal measures against violators.

He said, “The inspection team in Jahra Municipality recently disconnected power supply to 14 violating properties after being monitored by field teams with the cooperation of the concerned authorities. The inspection teams will intensify their tours to monitor the presence of bachelors in the private residential areas, in line with the law that bans accommodating bachelors in private residences”.

Engr Al-Manfouhi affirmed that the municipal teams in all the governorates monitor the violating properties around the clock, and coordinate with the relevant authorities to take necessary legal measures, adding that this is based on the intention of curbing the new coronavirus (COVID-19) from spreading.

He said, “The inspection teams intensified their campaign during the last two days due to the occurrence of several complaints related to some bachelors fleeing to residential areas”. Eng. Al-Manfouhi revealed about coordination with the Public Authority for Manpower, obligating companies to place their workers in designated locations and conforming to specifications.

He observed the need for precautionary and preventive health conditions and procedures to curb the spread of the virus, indicating that sanctions will be applied by the Public Authority for Manpower against companies that violating these condition and procedures, to the extent of closing the facilities and canceling their files.
