The UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship on Thursday issued a notification for residents, urging them to be careful of fraudsters.
The department warned Emirates ID holders never to share their personal or banking details by phone, adding that the authority never collects such data by phone or email.
"The authority does not use telephone or email to record or update individuals' data. Avoid disclosing or sharing your data by email or phone, especially those related to your bank accounts or personal information," it said in a tweet, urging residents to inform the department at 600530003 or via its social media channels.
