RIYADH The Royal Commission for Riyadh City announced the issuance of a decision lifting the embargo placed on large areas of unused land north of King Salman Road.

It is now permissible to make use of the vast areas of these lands, including all planning, development, selling, and buying processes, and connecting all the services to them, provided they are in conformity with the Saudi Building Code for Riyadh City, following its launch.

This decision issued on unused expanses of land in the city comes within a series of measures and studies taking place in different parts of the capital, in preparation for implementing the Strategy for Riyadh City.

The strategy aims to develop the capital’s economy and prepare it to accommodate double its population by the year 2030, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City said.

The Strategy for Riyadh City is expected to contribute to achieving a well-studied growth for Riyadh to make it one of the ten best 10 cities in the world, in terms of economy, competitiveness, and quality of life by 2030.

The decision also included many aspects aiming, in toto, to develop the infrastructure, support providing housing and tourism sustainability such that they contribute to raising the city’s attractiveness, organizing the urban environment and providing care for the heritage aspects, and address the encroachments that disfigure the urban landscape.

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City announced the formation of a Specialized Committee to look into the affairs of embargoed lands in Riyadh city and studies related to them. Members of this committee represent several pertinent government authorities.

In addition, a Unified Liaison Center has been set up. It will function under the supervision of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Specialized Committee to look into the embargo imposed on areas of land in Riyadh city.

This is with the objective of opening the way to intercommunicate with the public and answer their queries in this regard, by dialing the number 8001240800.

During the holy month of Ramadan, the Center will be working from Sunday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. and at night from 08:00 p.m. till 01:00 a.m.

After Ramadan, the Center will be functioning from Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 a.m. till 08:00 p.m.
