Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has detained a number of citizens on charges of gathering and violating the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19.

A statement issued online by the ROP said: "Police Headquarter of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate detained and issued administrative fines against several citizens for gathering and violating the decisions and conditions of the Supreme Committee dealing with COVID-19. "

Meanwhile, Police Headquarters in North Al Batinah Governorate has detained and issued administrative fines against many citizens on the same charges.

In South Al Batinah, the ROP issued a violation fine against a restaurant for not complying with the decisions of the Supreme Committee.
