UAE - Two shisha cafes in the Burj Khalifa area were among the six shops that were shut for flouting Covid safety rules. The Dubai Municipality said the cafes were crowded.

A crowded fitness centre was shut in Al Barsha. A massage centre in Muteena had unmasked staff and was ordered shut as well.

Two laundries in Al Jaffiliya and Al Dhagaaya were the other two shops to be ordered shut.

In its daily inspection report, the municipality said it had inspected 2,386 shops. About 98 per cent of the shops had implemented all Covid safety measures.
