Abu Dhabi Police have appealed to drivers, especially young people, to be disciplined while driving their vehicle during the rain.

The authority has warned motorists against driving recklessly, being negligent, driving into valleys and not complying with the traffic laws.

A fine of Dh2,000 ($544.5), plus 23 black points, and 60 day impoundment shall be slapped against any motorist involved in hazardous driving.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate confirmed that the roads would be continuously monitored for offensive acts such as 'drifting' and has also urged drivers to leave sufficient distance in between vehicles to avoid accidents.
