KUWAIT CITY: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) recently issued statistics showing the cancellation of work permits for 1,999 expatriates from Jan 12 till date, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the statistics, the number of expatriates whose work permits were canceled for final travel reached 6,245; 12,391 were canceled due to expiry of residence permits while outside the country; 896 due to death of the workers and 463 for transferring to dependent, domestic or self-sponsorship visas.

During that period, about 83 people transferred from the government sector, 602 work permits were issued, 404 work permits were issued after transferring from dependent visa and 106 were canceled for transfer to the government sector.
