Abu Dhabi-based developer Aldar is looking to create jobs for 1,000 more Emiratis by 2026, following the launch of the UAE’s Projects of the 50.

Aldar said it will employ 200 Emirati nationals per year until 2026, boosting its local talent, which is already 33.5 percent of the total workforce.

In a statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), the company said the new roles will be at all levels, from fresh graduates to experienced workers. The jobs will be deployed across all of Aldar’s businesses, including partners and suppliers.

Aldar’s workforce includes 32 percent Emirati national department heads, with 100 Emiratis joining the company in the past two years.

As part of the “Projects of the 50”, the UAE plans to have more Emiratis working in non-government businesses and make up at least 10 percent of private sector employees.

Aldar currently employs 43 nationalities, made up of 36 percent females and 64 percent males. About 18.7 percent of senior roles are held by Emirati women.
