DUBAI - H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with a number of officials at the World Government Summit currently being held in Dubai, where he reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting international organisations in their global humanitarian efforts.

In a meeting with Maria Espinosa Garcis, President of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Sheikh Abdullah discussed a number of issues on the UN agenda which the UAE is involved in, stressing the importance of enhancing joint action, cooperation and coordination in addressing pressing global challenges.

Garcis, in turn, said the UAE is providing the UN with positive support through its active humanitarian efforts regionally and globally.

Sheikh Abdullah also met with Laurent Fabius, President of the French Constitutional Council, where they discussed cooperation and friendship relations between the UAE and France, and means of boosting them in all fields to serve the common interest of both countries and peoples.

Fabius expressed his country's keenness to consolidate the strategic relations between the two friendly countries and develop them in various fields. He went on to praise the UAE's leading position at the regional and international levels and its important role in supporting the efforts of the international community to bring peace and stability to the region.

The UAE Foreign Minister in another meeting with David Beasley, Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme, underlined the joint cooperation between the UAE and the World Food Programme (WFP), highlighting the importance of the WFP in providing assistance to millions of needy people around the world.

Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE's keenness to support international institutions and help them achieve their humanitarian work worldwide.
