Riyadh – Mubasher: The unemployment rate among Saudi citizens declined to 12.3% in the second quarter of 2019, compared to 12.5% in the first quarter, according to Saudi Gazette.

The total number of Saudi jobseekers reached around one million from April to the end of June.

Data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTA) showed that the economic participation of Saudi women rose to 23.2% in Q2-19, from 20.5% in Q1-19.

Meanwhile, the overall economic participation of Saudis, males and females, hit 45% in the second quarter of 2019, compared to 42.3% a quarter earlier.

During the first quarter of 2019, unemployment among Saudis went down to 12.5%, against 12.7% in the fourth quarter of last year.
