ABU DHABI: The value of non-oil foreign merchandise trade through Abu Dhabi ports increased by 6.8% from AED 156.2 billion in 2017 to AED 166.9 billion in 2018, according to figures released Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre, SCAD.

''This was the result of a 23.8% increase in non-oil exports from AED 22.3 billion to AED 27.7 billion, 20.7% increase in re-exports, and 0.7% increase in imports,'' SCAD noted. ''Total trade increased by 14.7% in December 2018 compared with December 2017 due to an increase in non-oil exports and re-exports by 114.2%, and 29.6% respectively, while the value of imports decreased by 6.9% in the same period,'' it added.
