BERLIN- German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday greeted the decision by the country's constitutional court to let the European Union's 750 billion euro ($900 billion) COVID-19 recovery fund pass.

"I am very glad about the ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court which means that the own resources law (as an essential part of the fund) can now be implemented," Merkel said at an event on the future of Europe organised by the EPP, the main centre-right grouping in the EU parliament.
