Cairo – Egypt's engineering exports surged by 43% year-on-year (YoY) to $2.284 billion in the first nine months of 2021, compared to $1.595 billion, data by the Engineering Export Council of Egypt showed.

During September, engineering exports increased by 35% to $320.6 million from $237.8 million in September 2020, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Over the January-September period, exports of electric devices rose by 20%, car components by 54%, cables by 100%, home appliances by 59%, and electric and electronic industries by 47%.

The top market destinations for Egypt's engineering exports included the UK, Turkey, Slovakia, France, Germany, Spain, Greece, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, China, Morocco, Libya, Sudan, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tunisia.
