ArabFinance: The Egyptian Manpower Ministry said that Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs will facilitate for the expatriates who lost their jobs to return to their homelands, according to an official statement.

The authority’s humanitarian cases committee will look into the expats whose residency permit expired and had to stay in the UAE due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Egyptian ministry added.

It noted that this move will be carried out until business owners recall the expats or alternative vacancies are provided.

Due to the pandemic, another GCC country said it would extend the validity of exit/re-entry visas.
