Cairo – Egypt has received the third shipment of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine through the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT) in cooperation with the African Export-Import Bank, the Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, said.

The shipment includes 1.058 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine which will be distributed to 1,100 vaccination centres spread across all governorates in Egypt, Zayed added in a statement on Monday.

The single-dose vaccine has been approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA).
