The UAE will be seen as a role model for handling pandemic and its impact, said CP Gurnani, managing director and chief executive officer, Tech Mahindra.

CP Gurnani, fondly called as ‘CP’ in the Indian corporate world, hailed the efforts put by the UAE on boosting healthcare, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and providing Work From Home (WFH) amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

“The UAE is really played almost a leadership role in everything. We all know 2020 was not the best of the years, mainly because we all battled a pandemic. And this was one crisis, which every part of the world faced,” said CP, who visited the UAE recently.

Tech Mahindra is gearing up for the 5G future, which they believe will supercharge the business. “With 5G the human experience management will actually explode and Tech Mahindra will continue to focus on it. The UAE is always benefited from the supply chain, tourism, and real estate sector. Tech Mahindra subsidiary Pininfarina, which is the world’s largest and the best-known design firm based out of Italy will provide business by design to Dubai and the UAE residents,” he said.

2021:Year of 5G

Digital transformation in 2021 is no longer a question of, “Have you done it?” It’s no longer a question of, “If and When? It is a question of if you have not done it, then you are being left behind. The next stage of conversation in 2021 is, “How to hyper personalise it?” how to make it even more suitable to every household or every individual?

“I think how fast and when to hyper personalise it will be the next stage of conversation and we are waiting for 5G because 5G will enable it even more. So if at all 2020 was the year of digitalisation, I’m hoping 2021 is the year of 5G,” said CP.

The UAE, because of its unique positioning, and foresight of the rulers, today becomes the gateway to the world. It has become the corporate headquarters of all the 54 countries of Africa. It is, in a lot of ways, even for Indian subcontinent a corporate headquarter, pointed out CP.

Speaking about Expo 2020 Dubai, CP, said, Expo is about defining the future of the world order, which is built on connectivity, relationships, and trust. It also defines the future world order, where people realise that it takes all the countries to come together. And that’s how you solve a pandemic and continue to grow.
