Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Customs collected EGP 2.58 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during January.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Suez port reached EGP 732.959 million during the first month of 2021, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.

Moreover, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods registered EGP 1.842 billion during the month, the statement showed.

The imported goods included car spare parts, oils, plastics, wheat, and petroleum products.

Additionally, the port exported goods that included food and agricultural products at a total value of EGP 3.758 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 5.632 million.
