KUWAIT CITY - Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) has signed a contract with a local company for the maintenance of liquefied gas cylinders – 5, 12 and 25 kilograms – at a total cost of KD 935,000, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.

Sources wondered why the company signed this contract despite the existence of two maintenance units for liquefied gas cylinders in its factories in Shuaiba and Umm Al-Aish.

Sources pointed out these maintenance units are carrying out many tasks stipulated in the abovementioned contract; such as leakage and discharging liquefied gas from cylinders. Sources said this contract is an additional cost for the public treasury, considering KOTC owns two maintenance units that perform the same tasks assigned to the local company
