Saudi Arabia - Honeywell Building Solutions is in talks with Egypt and Saudi Arabia over their ongoing smart city development plans, according to a management figure.

Honeywell is showcasing its command and control platform, an open multi-point integration platform, enabled with Internet of Things (IoT) which was installed in various smart city projects in India, the company’s Gulf regional manager Philipose Jacob told Construction Week Online on the sidelines of Intersec 2019, a security expo held in Dubai.

“We are working with the government now to actually roll out a similar framework in Egypt, although I can’t go into the specifics at this time,” Jacob said.

Honeywell sees the trend of smart cities in the GCC is improving, particularly in Saudi Arabia, he added, without disclosing any details regarding the discussions with the government on specific smart city projects.
