Work on the third phase of the Al Jasra Interchange has been given the go-ahead.

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) is financing the infrastructure project under the Gulf Development Programme.

Under Phase III, entrances and exits would be constructed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

The project serves commuters heading from Manama to Jasra and Budaiya and those heading from Hamala to Manama and from Budaiya to Saudi Arabia via the King Fahad Causeway.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Khalaf said that the third phase will improve the smooth flow of the traffic, ease bottlenecks and reduce the time to reach Jasra by 25 to 30 per cent.
