Cairo – Mubasher: The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) signed a credit facility agreement worth EGP 1 billion with the telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems integrator, Fiber Misr, to finance the establishment of several IT projects, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) recently reported.

This move is part of NBE’s role in supporting major projects in key sectors, NBE’s chairman Hisham Okasha said.

Fiber Misr has set up several national projects, including upgrading the IT infrastructure of 2,500 secondary schools to be connected to the internet and establishing data centres at all ministries and state-run bodies at the premises of the Ministry of Defense in the New Administrative Capital, the company’s chairman, Sherif Nabih, said.
