Dubai –  Emirates District Cooling (Emicool), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments, has completed phase one of its AI-enabled District Cooling Plant (DCP) at Dubai’s Expo 2020.

The plant's first phase will offer chilled water-cooling solutions to areas in Expo 2020, namely the RTA station, Conference and Exhibition Centre, and the EXPO village, according to a press release on Sunday.

The plant was developed to provide a total production capacity of 60,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TRs) across its two phases, with phase one currently producing about 20,000 TR.

Located in the Expo 2020’s Opportunity wing, the DCP uses direct Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) feed in its operations.

The CEO of Emicool, Adib Moubadder, said: "The DCP at Expo 2020 is testament to our vision; it uses innovative technologies to streamline and optimise the water-cooling process and will contribute to the well-being of guests and personnel at the renowned Dubai Expo 2020 event."
