Cairo – Egypt’s parliament approved an agreement to obtain a loan worth EUR 205 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

Under the deal signed on 1 August 2018, the loan will be used to finance the renovation of Cairo metro’s first line.

Earlier this week, the Egyptian minister of transport Kamel El-Wazir previously inaugurated Heliopolis metro station, one of the largest in the Middle East, on the fourth phase of the third metro line.
