Egypt - Mwasalat Misr will take charge of bus fleets in new cities under a 15-year contract with the New Urban Communities Authority, Al Mal News cited deputy general manager Mohsen Sabra.

Under the deal, the mass transport provider will operate and maintain some 110 buses in six cities including Shorouk City, Badr, Al Obour, Sheikh Zayed, Tenth of Ramadan, and Sixth of October.

It is expected to invest some EGP 1.5 billion in running the new routes and financing a fleet expansion.

Mwasalt, which is majority-owned by Emirates National Group, previously operated fewer lines between cities including Sixth of October and Sheikh Zayed under short-term agreements.
