Cairo – Egypt has completed the implementation of 458 projects in water resources and irrigation sector at a total cost of EGP 5.6 billion in 25 governorates, including 204 projects at a cost of EP 3.3 billion during fiscal year 2019/2020.

Water resources projects in the last fiscal year increased by 44.3% from the year before, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Saeed, said in statement on Thursday.

Upper Egypt projects accounted for EGP 1.8 billion during the last two fiscal years, while border governorates projects amounted to EGP 895 million, and Delta governorates projects reached a total value of EGP 71 million.

Aswan had the highest value of irrigation projects at EGP 954.4 million, followed by Red Sea governorate with EGP 552.9 million, Ismailia governorate with EGP 536.7 million, and Beheira governorate with EGP 518.8 million.
