Cairo –  The Egyptian Ministry of Housing and New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) are developing roads and bridges in New Alamein City at a combined cost of EGP 2.54 billion, according to an official document reviewed by Mubasher.

The projects include rerouting the International Coastal Road (Alexandria - Matrouh) with a length of 38 kilometres at a cost of EGP 738 million. The project reached 95% completion and is expected to be completed during April.

At a cost of EGP 329 million, South Marine Road is also being rerouted at a length of 10 km and it reached 95% completion.

In addition, the projects include a bridge over the strait no. 1 and 2 at a cost of EGP 460 million and a pedestrian bridge over the strait no. 3 and 4.

Two bridges on the C-5 road are being built at a cost of EGP 520 million and two other bridges are being established on A-1 and A-2 roads at a cost of EGP 494 million.
