E-commerce free zone EZDubai will add four new facilities as it expands with an eye on future demand as domestic e-commerce is expected to contribute 12 billion dirhams ($3.3 billion) to the GDP within the next few years.

The new facilities, currently under development will span 270,000 square feet, in addition to the 1.3 million square feet that have been developed, said a statement from Dubai Media Office.

EZDubai, located in Dubai South’s Logistics District, was launched in January 2019 as part of Dubai’s aims to position itself as a hub for global e-commerce.

E-commerce outfits with facilities based there include First Cry, noon, Amazon, DHL Express and Aramex.
