The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, a government agency in Abu Dhabi, announced on Tuesday the launch of a new initiative that will link small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to industry experts.

Through the Access to Experts programme of the fund’s digital platform, Abu Dhabi SME Hub,  entrepreneurs will be able to connect with mentors and ask questions on different topics, including artificial intelligence, financial technology, legal and tax, among many others.

“Entrepreneurs will have access to a list of experts across three main themes: access to the Abu Dhabi market; business expertise, including design thinking, investment readiness, legal, tax and financial advisory; and industry expertise across F&B, retail, agriculture, financial technology and artificial intelligence,” the fund said in a statement.

Rashed Al Blooshi, Vice Chairman of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, said he hopes that the initiative will “contribute to supporting the business environment” in the UAE capital.

“We’ve created a live link that gives entrepreneurs direct access to some of the brightest minds in their respective fields,” he said.

Abu Dhabi’s SMEs contribute about 29 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) and account for 44 percent of the non-oil economy, according to Abu Dhabi Chamber.
