UAE - The Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH), in its attempt to improve the quality of patient care for residents in healthcare facilities is using the Diamond Rating System to rate the performance of facilities operating in the health sector. The new identity for the healthcare quality index is called Muashir.

The Diamond Rating system is classified as good, very good, exceptional and outstanding.

DoH developed the programme based on the highest healthcare standards, including nine key pillars such as clinical care outcomes, patient and staff happiness, patient feedback, safe workplace, correct claims, research and innovation.

Muashir is an extension of the Jawda quality index which was developed by DoH in 2014 with the aim of improving the quality of healthcare services in Abu Dhabi.

The programme was developed in collaboration with leading global institutions like Care Quality Commission, UK.
