MINA — As many as 6,250 cameras are operational to document all field details at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the holy sites of the human and technical components in a seamless manner during this year’s exceptional Hajj. This is being managed by the Integrated Command and Control Center, which is tasked with issuing directives and doing follow-up of their implementation in the field, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Brig. Gen. Saad Al-Dosary, assistant commander of the Command and Control Center for Hajj Security, said that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman are showing utmost keenness for the safety of the pilgrims so as to enable them to perform their rituals in ease and comfort.

This is through the follow-up of Minister of Interior and the guidance of Director of Public Security. The center is carrying out its excellent work through its trained and efficient personnel who are equipped with highly advanced technical and technological devices.

Al-Dosary said the center, headquartered in Al-Awali in Makkah, is supplying pictures of the operations of all the field commands through trained people from the General Security.

They are professionals in the process of controlling and monitoring television cameras at the holy sites, the Haram central area and Makkah as a whole to provide a clear and accurate picture to the concerned personnel in the field so as to deal with any untoward incident, whether criminal or traffic or related with pedestrians or humanitarian or service areas quickly.

The center also carries out its various coordination roles through its communication with all security and military authorities, ministries, governmental and private bodies.

Al-Dosary said the center boasts of having the latest advanced technology, television surveillance units, statistics and reports, modern plans, and issuing alerts through communications and information technology applications. It is managed by qualified staff to follow up on the implementation of security, service, and humanitarian plans.

Regarding the implementation of health precautions and protocols, Al-Dosary stressed that the center follows instructions just like all other establishments with regard to checking temperature, ensuring physical distance, wearing face masks, and complying with instructions issued by the relevant authorities.

It is also applying health protocols in the field through assisting pilgrims to obtain face masks, provide gloves, and follow the instructions, especially those pertaining to crowd management in addition to extending various services to stem the spread of the pandemic.
