$5mln pact signed to set up 45 social housing units in Oman

The agreement includes the construction of two types of housing units

H E Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed al Shabibi, Minister of Housing, last week signed an agreement with a private sector institution to build 45 residential units in Juweira area in Jalaan Bani Bu Hassan in South Sharqiyah governorate at a cost of RO2mn.

The agreement is part of the social housing programmes. Private sector finances these types of housing projects that benefit low-income families and social security families.

The agreement includes the construction of two types of housing units. The project includes 35 housing units consisting of three rooms with annexes and construction of ten housing units consisting of two rooms with facilities. The agreement also includes construction of internal roads.
