Road projects worth Dh574 million are being constructed in the Baniyas area of Abu Dhabi and most of them have achieved 90 per cent completion, the civic body announced.

The infrastructural projects in Baniyas city and its suburbs, including roads, lighting, drainage networks and modern structures, are being implemented by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, in coordination with Abu Dhabi General Services Company Musanada.

Among the big projects is the construction of the Dh147-million internal roads and other infrastructural plans in Baniyas East and Baniyas West. The project serves 1,289 housing plots.

Another road project being implemented in the area surrounding the Baniyas Villas Docks will cost Dh88 million.

A project to demolish and rebuild the outer wall and the gates of Baniyas Cemetery, and instal a monitoring system in accordance with the Manual for the Development of Cemeteries approved by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, is also currently being implemented and will cost Dh21 million.
