Kuwaiti patients offered world class treatment with congenital heart disease at the newly refurbished Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Kuwait: The Harley Street Clinic (THSC) in London today hailed the success of its participation at the Fourth Kuwait Medica Conference and Exhibition, which was held for three days, at the Barakeh Hall, Crown Plaza Hotel from 19 to 21 March.

The hospital, a silver sponsor of the event, welcomed all its visitors to the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) booth, as one of the seven hospitals the group represents. It provided visitors with a comprehensive description of the treatments offered to Kuwaiti patients with congenital heart disease at the newly refurbished Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

The PICU boasts an internationally recognized specialist team of pediatric cardiac consultants to provide the best quality of care for the most complex heart conditions for babies, children, through to adulthood. The new pediatric unit is technologically-advanced and is now in the most beautiful and modern surroundings. The unit specializes in the treatment of cardiac conditions, particularly congenital heart disease and offers a combination of experience, technology and close, well-established links with other hospitals from across the globe to provide the highest standard of care for critically ill babies and children.

Commenting on this participation, Khadija Mouhajer, Director of International Relations at HCA said, "We are very pleased with our participation in a conference that is considered to be one of the most highly regarded medical platforms in Kuwait, as it brings together all those interested in the medical field. It also presents us with a unique opportunity to provide a detailed explanation of the type of treatments we offer Kuwaiti patients, which are continuously developed according to worldwide medical standards.

Mouhajer added, "We take pride in the strong relations HCA enjoys with Kuwait's Ministry of Health and its long standing governmental healthcare facilities, which focus on offering the latest and best in the field of medical treatments to the Kuwaiti citizen, through the exchange in            medical experiences between both Kuwait and London, and periodical visits of internationally recognized consultants and specialists".

Nada Terhami, International Relations Manager at THSC also commented on this significant participation saying, "Our relationship with Kuwait is one that has existed for many years now, and this is due to our belief that genuine medical healthcare begins by earning the patients trust. We were very happy with our presence at the 4th Kuwait Medica Conference and Exhibition, which helped reinforce these relations by introducing the latest and most modern services and treatments, in addition to the significant changes our facilities have undergone".

Terhami added, "At the hospital, we are keen to continuously develop our services and attract the highest caliber of specialists and consultants, while applying the latest and most modern treatments on a global level. We also strive to create a healthy and peaceful environment that helps patients reach a point of security and comfort, which will assist in the recovery process, regardless the nature or type of treatment they are undergoing."

Parents have the security of knowing that their child is in safe hands whatever the situation or treatment since the paediatric service is comprised of a 13 bedded Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, a 5 bedded High Dependency Unit, and a whole floor at ward level providing 18 individual rooms which supports paediatric care.
