Today, the heavens inspire Paspaley's latest collection, Stellar. Stars, moons and constellations are worked with pearls in exquisite pav set diamonds in white and yellow gold. From dainty earrings with a cascade of tiny stars, to quarter moons sitting atop rings, to the edgy, asymmetrically shaped pav set diamond star clasp, the range offers a constellation of heavenly pieces set to delight jewellery lovers for generations.
The ultimate expression of the 'Stellar' theme is the centrepieces. In one, a circular cluster of tiny gold stars form the setting for a shimmering pearl, with hundreds of tiny diamonds nestling in the spaces between their points. Look carefully and you can see a tiny moon in the midst of all these stars.
In another, a pearl sits in the centre of a stylised gold supernova, a galaxy of diamonds spiralling out from the pearl on the highly polished surface. While in a third, the generous, curved faces of a quarter moon pav set with hundreds of diamonds is simply exquisite.
Some of these pieces can be worn either as the centrepiece of a Paspaley strand or as a separate brooch.
A stunning example of this is the star-cluster matched set of brooch/centrepiece, ring and earrings.
The collection embodies a variety of styles, achieved without losing sight of the all-enveloping theme including one-piece cufflinks and the Paspaley's charm bracelet which also enjoys a renaissance with tiny pav set stars and moons amongst circle and drop pearls.
The head designer of the Paspaley workshop, Jrgen Kammler, says of this the fifth collection he has designed, 'This is an exquisite Paspaley collection; chic and modern in its execution but steeped in the romance of the pearling adventure that lies at the heart of Paspaley'.
