First Islamic hotel in the UAE to receive Award

April 23, 2009- Dubai, United Arab Emirates: - Jawhara, the first Islamic hotel chain in the UAE and part of the S.S. Lootah Group, was awarded the Dubai Quality Appreciation Program 2008 (DQAP) for the Al Jawhara Gardens hotel, in the tourism sector. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, presented the award to Nasser Lootah, CEO of Jawhara, during a ceremony held on the 22nd of April, 2009.

The award comes in recognition of Jawhara's overall excellence in leadership, strategy, people policy, partnerships and resources, and Corporate Social Responsibility. Recognised as a pioneer of Islamic hotels in the UAE, Jawhara has set several benchmarks that present the true spirit of the United Arab Emirates family oriented hospitality.

Nasser Lootah praised the vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and said, "We are happy to be recognised for pursuing excellence in our model of providing a pure 'Halal' experience and a taste of the UAE culture. We will continue to set benchmarking trends through innovative service offerings in our delivery of a 'true Emirates hospitality'."

Jawhara has been seeing sustained growth since inception. Future plans include a new luxury hotel and expansion of its catering division. 'Al Jawhara Hotel management' has acquired license to manage hotels up to five star rating. The company is also under negotiations for some promising joint ventures.
