25 January 2011
Pemberton Partners officially launches its Dubai business with breakfast on Tuesday 1st February 2011. A talk during the event will centre on how the recent credit crisis will impact attracting senior talent into the Middle East, with a specific focus on compensation and will be supported by guest speaker Ray Everett, Head of Middle East, McLagan.

In January 2011, Pemberton Partners commenced operations enabling it to meet the Middle East's growing need for specialist Human Capital consultancy services, focusing specifically on investment banking operations. This is the first step in delivering Pemberton's strategy of expanding in the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Barbara Van Meir has been appointed to lead the office, and is a Director and Head of Middle East & North Africa (MENA). Barbara has more than ten years' experience in Executive Search in London and the Middle East, operating at a senior level. After initially working at Whitehead Mann in London, she moved to join to a boutique firm, specialising in investment banking.

Barbara brings strong contacts in the MENA region, where she has been based for the past eight years. She managed the financial services practice for a local boutique, leading a team of four and completing a wide range of projects for investment banks and asset managers based in the fast-growing MENA region.

Launched in 2007 by Andrew Cook, Gavin Maude and James Clements, Pemberton Partners has expanded steadily at a time when demand for Human Capital services has been impacted by the credit crunch. Pemberton Partners' success is due to its approach. By partnering with clients, and combining functional expertise and international reach with regional understanding, Pemberton has built a strong track record in delivery.

Pemberton Partners aims to become a leading niche Human Capital consultancy that operates across both EMEA and Asia Pacific (APAC) markets.  It is currently developing APAC activity from its London office and expects to open a regional office in 2012, in either Singapore or Hong Kong.

Non-Executive Director, John Burnett, is playing a key role in Pemberton's regional expansion. Formerly an HR Director at Invest AD, Europe Arab Bank and NatWest, he was appointed Non-Executive Director of Pemberton Partners in 2009.
