PASADENA, CA November 21, 2011 - Parsons is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a project management consultancy (PMC) contract by Abu Dhabi General Services PJSC (Musanada) for Shamkha South Development's infrastructure. Located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Shamkha South Development is an area situated approximately 12 km west of Abu Dhabi International Airport, and it comprises some 3,980 ha of previously undeveloped land allocated for the construction of 12,460 villas for UAE citizens, along with a central business district and various community facilities.
Under this contract, Parsons will be responsible for PMC for Shamkha South Development's infrastructure, including roads, street lighting, road marking, signage, and traffic signals; water distribution networks, reservoirs, and pumping stations; wastewater collection networks and force mains, including significant quantities of micro-tunneling; power distribution networks and substations; and storm drainage networks. Musanada is currently managing the delivery of the approximately AED 7 billion development to provide utility-serviced plots for the future Emirati Local Housing Development.
