Buyers look to The Big 5 to source new and sustainable products
Dubai, UAE. October 25, 2011. Spend on building construction in Oman is expected to reach more than US$27bn by 2014 according to research from Ventures, on behalf of The Big 5 2011.
Mixed use, airports and hotel building are the three most active sectors over the next three years in the Sultanate, with mixed use accounting for more than 30 per cent of total budgets. Following a difficult Q2 of 2011, significant infrastructure projects have boosted the industry and the upcoming years are expected to see a steady growth.
Andy White, event director of The Big 5 2011, has noted an increase in interest from Oman over the past few months, with the event kicking off in Dubai next month. He said: "As Oman's construction industry picks up pace, there is an increasing demand to source products and services that deliver efficient construction practices to international standards.
"For us, the event's reputation as a platform to source the right solutions means that its importance in the current market place has grown."
The Big 5 exhibition, taking place at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21-24 November, will see exhibitors from 75 countries across the world showcasing products new to the region and sustainable solutions.
Middle East Concrete, PMV Live and FM Expo are now operating under The Big 5 portfolio of events and will run alongside The Big 5 in 2011 and beyond. Developed to cater to industry demand they will provide dedicated zones for buyers, which will focus on those products and services most relevant to each industry.
