Muscat, April 18th 2010 - Oman's Ministry of Health has confirmed its endorsement for Oman Health, a strategic two-day healthcare summit taking place in Muscat on September 26th - 27th 2011. The summit is hosted by naseba, an international business information company.

Infotech - Most governments in the Middle East are increasingly supporting the idea that information and communication technologies (ICT) can be made available to all citizens to truly improve their lives. Middle East's $74bn healthcare sector to grow 16 percent annually drives demand for new technology solutions.
Expansion and investment - Oman's Majan Development Company (MDC) is planning to develop a healthcare city near Muscat with an estimated investment of US$ 774 million to US $1.03 billion. The Gulf Cooperation Council countries comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates is undergoing an unprecedented revolutionary change in its healthcare systems to emerge the world leader in providing state-of-art medical services at an affordable, easy to access manner. The World Bank estimates the total health care spending in GCC countries will reach US$60 billion in 2025 from its modest spending of US$12 billion currently.
