General Manager of the Middle Eastern Company for Trading & Investment (METI), the sole agent for Vestel Electronics paid a visit to the Dirar Ben Al Azwar School as part of a mentoring and advice program organized by Injaz.
The visit came within the company's policy to play a leading role in supporting young people and enhancing their capabilities and providing true examples of success stories to benefit them and give them advice and moral support necessary to achieve their aspirations and determination to move forward to their goals, whatever the challenges and obstacles they face. Mr. Farouqi spoke about his childhood, adolescence, youth, his studies at the School of the Bishop, and then at the University of Yarmouk. Students took a trip into his life since he was a student at the school, as he spoke about his ambitions in that period of time and the things that he loved and hated between his family circle and his school and community, so as to build a means of communication and understanding with students.
Farouqi also talked about his personal and professional experiences since his graduation from the university until his current position. He had worked in Saudi Arabia in Astra, and then in Karim Group where he climbed the professional ladder until he became a chief financial officer. He returned to Amman to work for Abu Tawileh Group. He also spoke about how he started his own business Wurth and now the Middle Eastern Company for Trading & Investment (METI).
Mr. Farouqi's session included a number of questions and answers, where the students were excited to hear success stories, listen closely and reflect on all the details of his life and take lessons from them. At the end of the visit, Mr. Farouq's tips and important guidance for students will benefit them in their lives on personal and professional levels. He also urged them to have faith in their own abilities and potential and work to promote and develop goals and aspirations for the future and be positive and not passive or pessimistic. He asked them to try to overcome the challenges and difficulties as these are the motives behind any success.
