Manama, Bahrain: Over 1,500 downstream oil and gas professionals will converge at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre on Sunday 20 May for the conference opening session of the 8th Middle East Refining and Petrochemicals Conference and Exhibition (Petrotech 2012).

The associated 5,400 square metre exhibition of refining and petrochemicals industry products and services will open in a separate ceremony on Monday 21 May under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The Petrotech 2012 conference opening session on 20 May assembles a panel of high ranking industry figures who will deliver their own perspective on this year's theme: Creating Value: Technology, Investment & People.  The theme focuses on current challenges facing the downstream hydrocarbon industry, with emphasis on future technology and opportunities.

"Technology, investment and people are fundamental to the refining and petrochemical industry and business growth that will meet the future needs of all our citizens," Middle East Petrotech 2012 Chairman and Vice President, Chemicals, Saudi Aramco Abdulaziz M. Al-Judaimi said.
