Philadelphia, PA - March 29, 2007. Visitors to this year's Gulf Pack exhibition will get the chance to gain a unique insight into the world of packaging technology from the head of new product development at one of the world's leading metal packaging manufacturers, Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (Crown) (www.crowncork.com).
Dr. Daniel A. Abramowicz, Executive Vice President of Crown Holdings, Inc. will address delegates at the show on the topics of 'Packaging's Role in Branding' and 'Improving Package Design'.
The hour long seminars, which take place at 12.00pm next Tuesday and Wednesday respectively (3/4 April) in Dubai's Airport Expo Centre, will encompass Dr. Abramowicz's thoughts on innovation within the packaging industry and investigate the key drivers of brand-building packaging, to include delivering visual appeal and convenience, ensuring brand protection and the importance of emerging markets.
A seasoned packaging industry professional, Dr. Abramowicz has global responsibility for technology development at Crown, including new product design, process improvements, materials developments, engineering and process monitoring across the breadth of Crown's packaging portfolio. In addition, he heads the company's Environment, Health and Safety Organization and its Sustainability Initiative. He holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Princeton University.
"With growing consumer demand coupled with changing attitudes to consumption and greater product diversification than ever before, the Middle East is currently one of the most exciting global markets for packaging manufacturers," said Dr. Abramowicz.
"Despite such a positive outlook, packaging manufacturers can't afford to rest on their laurels. It is only by remaining at the forefront of innovation and product design to respond to the changing needs of consumers that the industry will continue to flourish".
"As such it gives me great pleasure to be able to share some of my experience in developing brand-building packaging with the packaging fraternity in the Middle East," Dr. Abramowicz concluded.
